For example, the Yanmar 4TNV98 is a 3.319 litre engine fitted to most 8 tonne Volvo, Takeuchi, Case, Hitachi and Wacker Neuson excavators in mechanical governor, electronic or common rail format. For instance, in the Takeuchi TB175 and TB180FR in the mechanical format you will have either a Yanmar 4TNV98-STB, Yanmar 4TNV98-VTBZ or Yanmar 4TNV98-XTBW, in the electronic format a Yanmar 4TNV98-ZNTBL, Yanmar 4TNV98-ZQTB or Yanmar 4TNV98-ZQTBZ engine and in the common rail format a Yanmar 4TNV98CT-WTB or Yanmar 4TNV98CT-WTBZ. The Yanmar 4TNV98 engine is one of PES biggest sellers and we are able to offer new engines and long engines in mechanical and electronic governor formats and new engines in common rail format.
The Yanmar long engines are replacement spec engines and come complete apart from rocker covers, fuel injection equipment, EGR valves and equipment (electronic governor), exhaust manifolds, flywheels and electrics (electronic governor). You will have to swap build specific parts over from your old Yanmar engine to make it to the correct specification as they all slightly differ, hence the different build codes, depending on the OEM. If there is nothing wrong with your Yanmar 4TNV98 fuel injection equipment the Yanmar long engine provides a significant cost saving over the price of a complete new Yanmar 4TNV98. But remember, early Takeuchi TB175 excavators with the Yanmar 4TNV98 have a throttle dial and buttons in the cab instead of a throttle lever but they are mechanical governor engines as Takeuchi utilised a Takeuchi electric motor to move the Yanmar throttle lever.
