As the largest stockists and suppliers of Yanmar TNV engines in the UK even PES are struggling with supply chain issues and have run out of certain models. One of the more popular 3 cylinder engines is the Yanmar 3TNV88-XWA2 engine fitted into the Thwaites 3 tonne straight tip and Thwaites 3 tonne swivel skip dumpers. This Yanmar 3TNV88 engine has the PTO aperture on the timing cover which the hydraulic pump fits into to drive the steering and tipping functions on the dumper. This is a pretty unique application as most Yanmar 3TNV88 engines don’t have this, so even if you can find an engine it is a good 10 hours work to change it over as the timing cover backplate has to come off and to do this the camshaft has to be removed.
As PES has now run out of the Yanmar 3TNV88 fitted into the Thwaites dumpers we have come up with a unique solution if you need one. We have taken some old used core engines, stripped them down and bored the block out to oversize and fitted new genuine Yanmar 3TNV88 pistons with piston rings. We always fit genuine Yanmar parts, why would you put a cheap Chinese copy aluminium piston in, probably made out of recycled coke cans, as that piston is going up and down 5000 times a minute on full revs. We have also either polished the crank or ground it to over-size and fitted new big end and main bearings.
All you have to do is send your old Yanmar 3TNV88 engines fitted to your Thwaites dumper to PES and we will swap the parts over and finish rebuilding our long engine using your engine as a donor. You’ll then receive an engine back with all new seals and gaskets in that has been tested on our wet test rig so you know when the Yanmar 3TNV88 arrives back it will fit straight into your dumper and off it toodles, back to work earning you money.
We can supply one of these Yanmar 3TNV88 for Thwaites dumpers for £2650 plus vat and delivery, a saving of over £1500 plus vat over the cost of a new one. We can even arrange collection of the old unit if required, all you have to do is remove the Yanmar 3TNV88 engine from the Thwaites dumper, drain all the fluid and bung up the holes (carriers get a proper sulk on if you leave oil or coolant in their lorries) and secure it to a pallet.
