As the largest Yanmar diesel engine supplier in the UK, PES have the knowledge and experience to be able to help customers who require a Yanmar engine that is either obsolete or hard to source.
This happened recently with Finian Farming of Cirencester who had a Yanmar 3TNM72 engine fitted to a Polaris Ranger 900D. We had never supplied an engine for a Polaris before, the majority of Yanmar engines that we supply for utility vehicles are the Yanmar 3TNV70 for the John Deere Gator and the Yanmar 3TNM74F for the Kawasaki Mule.
Using the excellent on-line Yanmar information that we have access to as a dealer and with the help of Eddie Smith of Barrus we were able to download the spec of the Polaris Ranger 900D engine and then look for the nearest suitably spec’d Yanmar engine that could replace it. We managed to narrow it down to a Yanmar 3TNM74 engine, of which PES had 4 in stock. The inlet manifold was the same as was the exhaust, the only changes that needed to be made was the top coolant stack where it needed to be changed vertical to a side outlet and three additional M8 tapped holes drilled in the flywheel to carry the cush-drive as the Polaris was a 6 bolt fixing whereas our stocked Yanmar 3TNV74 engines only had 3.
So there we have another satisfied Yanmar customer, utilising the skills and knowledge gained by PES from being the largest Yanmar engine supplier in the UK to provide the customer with a speedy cost-effective solution for a very poorly Polaris Ranger 900D.
Not quite super-hero status……………………..but not far off!!!!
