Delivering a EC18E Volvo to Poole Docks at the crack of dawn does come with some benefits (believe it or not!). Doing 48mph (tops) along a single carriageway for two hours gives you plenty of time to reflect and admire the beautiful scenery of our country. Sometimes you can be presented with a sun rise that makes the journey extra special and on this particular morning I wasn’t disappointed.
For anyone who hasn’t travelled from our depot to Poole Docks, the most direct route takes you along the beautiful A35. This road runs alongside the South Coast and provides spectacular views for the majority of the journey. Assuming you don’t get stuck behind a tractor or your in front of the traffic in a lorry doing 48mph, this road can be an enjoyable experience.
The new Volvo EC18E pictured was being transported to Poole Docks to begin its voyage across the water to Jersey. We use Channel Seaways to transport the machine from the Poole across the water to the docks at St Hellier on Jersey.
